Architecture

A Web site powered by Mountain Publisher will have its own unique look and feel. The actual content of the site (text, images, PDFs, etc.) is stored in a database on a server. When a visitor comes to your site, this content is automatically flowed into a template that displays the appropriate information for any given page. With this type of architecture, it is possible to have a single template (or even multiple templates) capable of displaying an unlimited number of pages.

The advantage of this approach is that content can be quickly modified without altering the basic design and layout of the template. At the same time, the look and feel of an entire site can be completely changed in a very short time simply by redesigning the original template(s). Content will automatically re-flow into the new template(s), just as before.

Back-end Interface

Mountain Publisher uses an intuitive back-end interface to allow users to add and update the site's content. To manage content, the site owner logs onto the password protected back-end of the Web site using a browser. The Mountain Publisher site administration window has a comprehensive Help system in place to guide new users. Any person with basic computer skills and an Internet connection can master the Publisher interface.

File Management

Mountain Publisher has an updated method of managing Web articles. The new hierarchy is based on the parent-child concept of file management. Top-level pages are the main pages of your website (Home, News, Contact, etc.) Each parent level page can have children that act as links to pages and sub-pages.
